Van den Brink Rallysport going to Dakar 2010 with Mammoet

With five top-ten finishes and a great 12th place ranking in the truck class, the Dakar debut of Van den Brink Rallysport was a real success. Barely eight months later the team from Harskamp, the Netherlands, is proud to announce that it will take part in the toughest rally in the world once again in 2010. The team will be looking for new successes with Mammoet, the worldwide operating specialist in heavy transport, lifting, and salvage work, as inspirational main sponsor.

The more than 2500 visitors to the Mammoet club day 2009 experienced the première of the rally truck for 2010 on Saturday. One of the newest cranes from the Mammoet fleet lifted off the cover on Saturday to reveal the new look of the 950 BHP strong GINAF X2222.Thanks to the red color and the clearly recognizable Mammoet logo the BHP-monster really is a true eye-catcher.

Jan van Seumeren jr., member of Mammoet’s board of management, explained why the internationally operating specialist in special transport is the main sponsor of Van den Brink Rallysport this year: “The Dakar rally is one of the toughest competitions in the world. Man and machine must act as one. You need perseverance, intelligence and the power to solve problems in order to be able to perform. This is the same in our branch. Just as Van den Brink Rallysport, Mammoet is ready to accept any challenge.”

In Harskamp they are over the moon with the support from the new and enthusiastic main sponsor. “It is fantastic that we can announce so early that we will be at the start of the Dakar Rally again in 2010, certainly in these turbulent economic times”, said driver and team owner Martin van den Brink: “We have a great main sponsor in Mammoet and Mammoet Workwear. Their support together with all the other sponsors means that Van den Brink Rallysport can prepare for the rally in the best possible way.”

To start with the almost 1000 BHP strong rally truck will be completely rebuilt by GINAF Rally Service. Crucial parts such as the suspension, drive train and steering system will be brought back to as new so that the team will be able to begin the adventure in 2010 with a truck that is effectively just like new. The team for the coming Dakar will be Martin van den Brink, navigator Martien Hol and mechanic Arjan Veenvliet. Finishing is the main aim of the team, but with the experience gained from this year the team will also aim for day successes and a place in the top ten of the general ranking.
